And so to London. The city where County last achieved a Football League promotion. We can’t go up today, but three points at Brisbane Road would almost certainly give us another crack at a Wembley trip in May. If Bradford or Grimsby do us a favour as well, it means we’ll still have a chance of securing automatic promotion when Hartlepool come to town a week on Monday.
We’ve got a couple of snippets from Nick Lee and Jonathan Baker ahead of County’s date with the champions this afternoon. And if you missed yesterday’s article, click here for an in-depth feature on the League Two promotion battle, with contributions from all eight clubs involved.
Finally, a huge thank you to Kingsway Carpets for sponsoring today’s edition. They’ve currently got clearance stock available in store, so if you need a new carpet at the moment, it’s definitely worth having a look.
Come on County!
Des Junior
Des Junior loves writing about County. But he can never be arsed doing match previews. They’re a bit dull, aren’t they? Paddy Madden’s out for two games with an ingrown toenail…blah blah blah…tomorrow’s referee has handed out more cards than Moonpig…blah blah blah…County haven’t won at Birmingham since 1672.
Fortunately he’s got a number of County correspondents to call upon, with Nick Lee and Jonathan Baker completely dismissing the big ‘C’ next to Orient’s name and predicting County to come away with all three points this afternoon. Fingers crossed!

Even if we win at Brisbane Road this afternoon, we still need a favour elsewhere. Who’s most likely to help us out - Bradford at Northampton or Grimsby at Stevenage?
I can see Bradford having more chance of doing us a favour, but this is silly season after all and anything could happen. I mean, not anything, even though that would be fun. For what it's worth I've got a feeling Stevenage might slip up, although that obviously doesn't matter if we fail to win. I’m going for a hard-fought 1-0.

Squeaky bum time. Can we do the business in the capital this afternoon?
We will win, I am convinced of it. A breezy 2-0, with a goal in each half. Onwards!
As always, Geordie Hatter provided us with some great music content for today. But it’s so good, it deserves to be the main feature of an article on its own, which will make perfect reading on Sunday morning with your brew.
Photo of the day
Somewhere on a train between Sheffield and London
Get this hung in the Louvre! Is there any better photo on a Saturday morning than a Carling-swigging, County shirt-wearing Chris Beaumont on his way to Orient away? Sublime photography from Oliver Beaumont, it has to be said.

Never mind Google or Yell.com, we’ve got you covered
STOP! That got your attention, didn’t it? Just a quick one… I’d hazard a guess that at some point in April, all of our readers will use Google or Yell.com at some point looking for a particular product or service. But before you do, please have a quick look at our own directory to see if we have what you’re looking for. A number of great businesses support The Scarf My Father Wore, allowing us to publish fresh content every day, so let’s send a few enquiries their way in return.
