Following the funeral of County’s former goalkeeper yesterday, Keith Mills shares a rather unique memory from the 1960s
Steve was a very friendly guy. I remember him supporting a charity event in Poynton at a farm just off the top end of Dickens Lane.
‘Beat the Goalie’ was a popular game with Steve rarely letting one in. He kindly agreed for me to go in goal and spent half an hour coaching me.
