Dear County fans, Stopfordians, Bristol Rovers supporters, and anyone else from The Football Family joining us today, a very warm welcome to your Thursday edition of The Scarf My Father Wore.

I enjoyed my first ever pint of Guinness Zero at The Wellington in Bristol on Tuesday night. Not bad! A few hours later, in the 90th minute of County’s game at Bristol Rovers, I almost had another first to shout about - our first ever victory at the Memorial Stadium - but Odin Bailey gave away a daft free-kick, which we then failed to defend as the Gas snatched an undeserved point. You have to go back to 1967 for our last win in the city of Bristol. Not a bad point, though, and we’re still firmly involved in the promotion hunt as over 3,000 County fans prepare to make the short trip to Wigan on Saturday. I might even sample my first ever Wigan Kebab…

DW Stadium, Wigan

A plethora of hoods and bobble hats in this one. Taken on a Wednesday night in December 2023, this was our last visit to Wigan - a 2-0 defeat in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy. I can honestly say this was the coldest I’ve ever been watching County. Let’s hope for a slightly warmer day in WN5 this Saturday.

Two films at The Savoy Cinema (SK4) today. A Complete Unknown (15) at 4.30pm, followed by The Brutalist (18) at 7.30pm.

The screening of The Brutalist coincides with Pizza Club. Tickets include a pizza from I Knead Pizza, a drink of your choice and an ice cream – all in the comfort of your cinema seat!
