We’re playing Mansfield today. If you had to get rid of every man in the world, or every field in the world, which would you choose?

As much as getting rid of every man is tempting, it'd be extra upsetting if I was the only fella in the world and still couldn't get a shag. Of course, with getting rid of every field in the world comes the quandary of deciding whether a football stadium contains a field, but I'm sure people with bigger brains than me will work that one out. Over to you, science lads.

How would you assess County’s first half of the season?

County’s first season back in League One after being too long away, has been an interesting affair, with loads for excitement seekers to hang their hats upon.

The win at Blackpool early on, and our total destruction of Bolton Wanderers, were emphatically good wins, but the best for me was the 1-0 win that put down Wrexham’s challenge in November – a win that emphasised fully County’s ability to manage a game beautifully, squeezing the life out of visiting teams in the most aesthetically pleasing fashion. It’s in there, and the fact that they do not produce this every game should not be reason to be over critical of a young team stepping up to the plate in a tough old league.

There’s the other side of this coin too of course, a few disappointments here and there, most notably our humbling at Edgeley Park by the best team I can recall seeing this term, Wycombe Wanderers, but we knew before the first game of the season that we would lose games, and I’m pleased to note that whilst being constructively critical, most County supporters see the Hatters’ performances so far this season as not perfect but a very creditable effort. Indeed I would go so far as to say that being just a point off the play-offs at this stage is bloody marvellous.
