Des Junior
Des Junior loves writing about County. But he can never be arsed doing match previews. They’re a bit dull, aren’t they? Will Collar’s out for a month with diarrhoea… blah blah blah…tomorrow’s referee has handed out more cards than Moonpig…blah blah blah…County haven’t won at Birmingham for a thousand years.
Fortunately, he has a number of fellow County content creators to call upon. Here’s their thoughts, general chit-chat and score predictions, as Wrexham visit Edgeley Park in the third tier for the first time since 2004-05.
Ian Brown, All Things Stockport County
County 3 Wrexham 0
Pye in for Touray, who’s on international duty. Apart from that, it’s got to be the same team from the Bolton win hasn’t it?
Same again would seem to be what’s called for. However, I suspect Dave Challinor will want to start Odin Bailey, in which case Callum Connolly might be the one to lose out. In that case we’d go with four at the back with Macauley Southam-Hales and Ryan Rydel slotting in at full-back.
Alternatively, if my ‘Connolly under threat’ hunch has legs I would not be averse to instead swapping him for Sam Hughes and sticking with the back three, which would push Ryan and the Welsh Genius a little further up the park with slightly less defensive duties to think about.
But whatever 11 are sent out, I expect us to beat Wrexham today.
Ian follows County home and away, producing detailed match reports every week, along with lots of other great content. Head over to hedgegrower.blogspot.com.

Best and worst memories from previous clashes with Wrexham?
Best: I wasn't there because I was dying of the lurgy and it remains my greatest regret in 30 years of following County, but it has to be the 5-0 win last year. Any other answer is pretty much wrong innit?
Worst: That trip there in an FA Trophy replay in 2015 was pretty bleak. 2-1 down at half-time and their keeper goes off injured to be replaced by an outfield player. We then fail to do so much as muster a shot in the second half and go on to lose 6-1. Genuinely torrid.

As a County fan, which team do you hate the most?
A great question – and of course we know what the most topical answer would be! I actually find myself struggling to muster particularly high levels of strictly County-based enmity for our opposition this afternoon, seeing them as another proper old-fashioned club whose loyal fanbase have endured plenty through the years, and who are as deserving as any of the unsolicited riches latterly propelling them towards the game’s upper echelons.
Having said that, I still absolutely can’t stand them, and this is for reasons nothing to do with County at all, but on account of them having shattered my 10-year-old heart by knocking brave Northern League fighters Blyth Spartans out of the FA Cup in a fifth round replay staged at St James’ Park back in 1977-78.
I was at the game with my many Northumbrian cousins, all of us bedecked in green-and-white scarves, and with the winners due to face the mighty Arsenal in the quarter finals, the entire North East of England had been roused to fever pitch; the attendance was officially given as a capacity 42,000, but it’s commonly accepted there were a good extra 10,000 packed inside. When the final whistle blew on a bitterly close 2-1 defeat for the brave team of pitmen, I was reduced to tears – the first time a football result had caused such emotion, and absolutely not the last.
This afternoon, I’m braced for 90 minutes of the high and fragile emotions that this fixture customarily brings in its wake. The two sides are as ever very closely matched, but I sense an early goal for the Hatters, and the sold-out crowd to roar us over the line. I’ll go for a direct reversal of that faraway cup tie: a 2-1 home win.
Jonathan, aka Geordie Hatter, hosts The County Away Day Show on selected Saturday mornings during the season, when the Hatters are on the road. All episodes can be found at the-geordie-hatter.mixlr.com.

If you’ve been injured as a cyclist, see how Parkers Solicitors can help you
Parkers Solicitors have decades of experience in winning accident claims for injured cyclists. They understand that being knocked off your bike can be very traumatic and can provide a full service, from getting your bike repaired and recovering the repair costs to funding private physio and scans recovered from the other side, whilst assisting with obtaining a replacement bike if required. Parkers will also help you recover any loss of earnings and other expenses such as travel and medication costs as a result of the accident.
Cyclists are vulnerable road users and often accident victims of cars not seeing them or cutting them up. If you get the registration of the vehicle who collided with you, great, but often people don’t realise they can also claim for other incidents, such as your bike being damaged by a pothole, or being involved in a hit and run without obtaining the registration of the car, or getting hit by an uninsured can. You can still claim in all these scenarios.
If you’re ever knocked off your bike, get in touch with Parkers and they will assist you through the whole process.
Personal injury is a complex area of law. You need people who are experienced and aware of issues that may arise in order to get the outcome you’re after. The solicitors at Parkers are specially trained to help you. They understand the claims process which means they’ll talk to you in language you understand, not lawyer jargon.
It’s their job to do the hard work so that you don’t have to. They’re willing to take on the stress to make the whole process as hassle-free as possible for you. They understand that such processes can seem complicated and even intimidating, but with an expert team to support you, there’s nothing to worry about.
Hit and run claims
Don’t worry if you didn’t get the registration or any details of the vehicle that knocked you off your bike. Parkers can still claim for you from the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB). This is a special body created to ensure that those who are injured because of somebody else’s fault still have the chance to claim compensation.
Uninsured driver claims
Don’t worry if the vehicle that knocked you off your bike was uninsured. Parkers can still claim for you from the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB).
Pothole and poor road condition claims
Bike accident claims resulting from road quality issues require the involvement of local authorities, such as city or town councils, which Parkers are used to dealing with regularly. It’s good practice to report it to the council as soon as possible and also to take pictures of the defective road, such as the pothole or grid which caused the incident.
Transfer from another solicitors firm or claims company
If you are not happy with your current solicitor, you can get a second opinion from Parkers and transfer the case. They pride themselves on their knowledge, attention to detail, speediness and being contactable. If you aren’t receiving this treatment, give them a call.
Visit parkers-solicitors.co.uk for further details.
