Dear County fans, Stopfordians, Huddersfield supporters, and anyone else from The Football Family joining us today, a very warm welcome to your Boxing Day edition of The Scarf My Father Wore.

Des Junior
Des Junior loves writing about County. But he can never be arsed doing match previews. They’re a bit dull, aren’t they? Will Collar’s out for a month with diarrhoea… blah blah blah…tomorrow’s referee has handed out more cards than Moonpig…blah blah blah…County haven’t won at Birmingham for a thousand years.
Fortunately, he has a number of fellow County content creators to call upon. Here’s their thoughts, general chit-chat and score predictions, as County head to Huddersfield for the first time since a 0-0 draw in September 2009.

Does this County side make the play-offs without Louie Barry?
Louie Barry’s departure offers up more than one challenge to County. For the players, particularly those on the fringe of first team action, it’s an obvious opportunity to establish a place in our regular starting 11. The most obvious player to whom this applies is Tanto Olaofe, and whilst Barry’s recall presents a definite challenge to Tanto it also asks serious questions of Dave Challinor. Will he back Tanto, by giving him a regular starting spot?
Despite the niggardly amount of game time allotted to him this season, the six goals he’s notched in very little time at all, tells me he can and will do a job for us – if he’s shown he is valued.
It’s not enough to just throw Tanto in the mix and hope, though. The players around him should be on orders to keep the ball on the deck and play to feet as far as our proven 20 goal a season striker is concerned.
So, a challenge to the players and the manager, but County coped admirably last season in the wake of Louie’s prolonged absence due to injury, so with the required application by all, they can do so again this time around!

What’s your favourite County Boxing Day memory?
That's a really tough one. The 5-1 hammering of Alty in 2021 was an absolute belter if we're talking recent years, but I'd have to go with the win at Wrexham in 1996. It seems to have been forgotten about on account of everything else that happened that season, but to come back from two down early on to win 3-2, superb.
Luckily we've collated ten of the most memorable County festive fixtures right here.

Make sure you get your car serviced before your next trip
Not everyone travels abroad these days for a holiday. Whether you’re taking your caravan to Cornwall, your motorhome to Margate, or simply packing up your Skoda for a few days in Skegness, make sure you’re on top of your servicing. Don’t be that family stuck on the hard shoulder with their hazard lights on!
Before you go away, get your vehicle booked in for a service with Connor at CJ Motors (opposite The Peel Centre) to avoid any additional stress on your holiday.
➡️ Visit cjmotorsuk.com for further details.

Edgeley Conservative Club
Boxing Day. Edgeley Conservative Club. County fan Ian Lancashire initially refused to have a photo with Father Christmas, as he wears Man United colours, but I persuaded him eventually. There’s over 2,000 County fans heading over to Huddersfield today. 4th v 5th in League One.
Could you be the next Jason Manford or John Bishop?
